Privacy
No accounts, no cookies of our own, and the microphone never leaves your device.
The microphone
The live meter uses your microphone only after you press Start and your browser asks permission. The audio is analysed inside your browser tab to compute a level. It is not recorded, stored or sent to any server. Closing the meter or the tab stops it.
What is stored in your browser
Your theme choice, your meter calibration offset and whether you have seen the note about sample volumes are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device. The noise dose calculator keeps your activities in the page address (after the #), which browsers do not send to the server; if you share that link, whoever you send it to can see it.
